Have you ever wondered why engine casings and cooling fins are painted black? Rumor has it that it's because black dissipates heat better than other colors. The real reason the engine casings and fins are painted is to seal the surface to slow down corrosion. The color black is used for aesthetics because most agree it’s the color that looks the best for exposed engines and other engine components of the motorcycle. Black paint helps to showcase all the chrome and aluminum surrounding the engine.
The problem is the heat generated by the engine together with exposure to UV rays and weather as well as repeated washings will tend to turn the factory dark black to a faded gray.
 Here’s the good news… S100 Engine Brightener is specifically designed to restore a dark, black finish to dull black surfaces, including painted, plastic and rubber parts. Best of all, it's easy to use because it comes in an aerosol clan with a unique misting spray nozzle. An extension tube that’s approximately 2.5” long enables you to neatly mist S100 Engine Brightener in between fins and into tight nooks and crannies. The tube nozzle can be removed from the can and stored in the lid when not in use.
S100 Engine Brightener is heat stable and water and detergent resistant. It will hold up over time.
S100 Engine Brightener can be used on painted surfaces, plastic and rubber, including engine cases, engine cylinders, valve covers, air cleaner, rubber hoses, gaskets, vinyl or plastic wrapped cables, and any other black painted surfaces or vinyl, rubber or plastic surfaces.

How to use
Shake can well and point the extended tube nozzle at the surface you want to treat and press down on nozzle head. The nozzle tube makes it easy to target the specific area you want to treat. If overspray occurs, use S100 Detailing Swabs to remove unwanted product.
